The Art of Empowerment: Leading with Influence Starts from Within

When I walked into the room with The Tipton Group, I could already tell — it was going to be special.

The energy was real. We weren’t just checking off a training box; we were connecting, laughing, leaning into leadership truths, and having the kind of conversations that stick. And for me, as a speaker, trainer, and just a human who believes in people, that’s the magic.

It got me thinking about how we pour into leaders. And I’m not just talking about professional development or KPI reviews. I mean the real kind of pouring in — where you help leaders see themselves, stretch their thinking, and remind them of the influence they carry, even when it’s not loud or shiny.

Here’s what I’ve seen again and again:

  • Influence isn’t about a title. It’s how you show up when it’s hard. When the room is quiet. When nobody’s clapping.

  • Empowered leaders empower others. And that kind of leadership creates cultures where people thrive — not just survive.

  • People don’t always need more rules; they need more reminders that their voice matters and their impact is real.

  • Being “locked in” is less about hustle and more about clarity. Knowing who you are and how you lead — even when nobody's watching.

There’s a lot of talk about innovation, leadership, growth… but not enough about soul. About the stuff that helps people show up fully, lead with heart, and feel confident using their voice.

And that’s what The Art of Empowerment is all about.

I left that room full — reminded why this work matters. And if you’re a company, team, or leader reading this… don’t forget to pour into your people. They’re carrying a lot. The kind of leadership that lasts starts with how you treat your leaders, too.
